Virginia Riezu returns to the stage with Poderío, a show with the name of a copla and a political-emotional background.
The folk singers knew how to take center stage, have presence, and not apologize. This show does too.
Poderío is a monologue about all the times we've been taken for fools and about the power that appears when we stop apologizing for being who we are.
After years of pointing out the external judgment towards female comedians, Virginia turns the gaze inward: to high sensitivity, life experience, well-understood bitterness, and un-sweetened emotional intelligence.
It talks about relationships, age, aesthetic pressure, Ozempic, motherhood and non-motherhood, fertility clinics, egg donation, housing, cystitis, menstrual cups, and crying over yogurt commercials...
All of this with humor, without solemnity or moralizing.
